VIEW ON DEMAND

Today is the day, my friends!

WHERE THERE ONCE WAS WATER
is now available on Vimeo VIEW ON DEMAND

This day has been a long time coming. I hope this film brings you hope in these sometimes-hopeless-times, as it has done for me, in so many ways.

Rent the film for $4.99, or purchase a download for $12.99.
* Vimeo’s VOD service is available to all, does not require a paid subscription, and presents films in a high-quality easily-accessible digital format. (you will need to set up a free Vimeo account, if you don’t already have one, but it’s easy, and free).

I hope you enjoy the film, my friends. It has truly been a labor of love.
In sharing it with you today, I share with you, my heart.

Big love, y’all. My gratitude runs deep. xo

big news!

The dream for any filmmaker, ultimately, is for their film to be seen. This dream is now coming true in a biiiiig way for WHERE THERE ONCE WAS WATER. I am thrilled to finally share the news that’s had me bursting at my seams …. (insert long-awaited drumroll here) ….

… WE HAVE A DISTRIBUTOR! … (omg, y’all). WHERE THERE ONCE WAS WATER has secured educational distribution through a really-totally-couldn’t-be-more-perfect partnership with EPF Media.

“EPF Media is a distributor and producer of innovative documentaries from around the world that educate and raise awareness of social issues, cultures and the arts.  EPF Media is committed to releasing films that inspire people and bring positive change to our communities.”

Educational Distribution has been a dream goal. And a distributor who cares about the issues, and who knows how to get this story out into world, and in front of as many eyeballs as possible… well, that’s just pure magic. Sales to libraries are going really well, with over 400 DVDs sold already, across the US & Canada. Further distribution will include universities, colleges, schools, nonprofits, and and and…. 😊.  It really is a dream come true.

There’s now an official Study Guide, a Press Kit, and a DVD (heyo!). You can schedule a screening, purchase public performance rights, or grab your very own copy of the DVD at this link …

gratitude & love

Somehow we're in December...

I hope you are well, friends, and able to navigate these strange times with grace & grit, and bit of luck & tenacity. It's hard to know what's ahead, and still hard to make sense of what's behind, and amidst it all, I'd like to say thank you. Again & always. Thank you. For being here. For sharing in this journey. For helping bring this story to life. "Where There Once Was Water" continues it's run on the festival circuit, and has even collected a couple awards in the process. My heart is full. The timing couldn't be better, as our earth, our waters, and our collective, are all ripe for healing.

Sending you love & gratitude. Always, Brittany.

I had a sweet time at the Ojai Film Festival, in neighboring Ventura County. I screened alongside my friend Emmett Brennan, with his beautiful film "Reflection : a walk with water", and had the immense pleasure of hosting a Live Q&A after the film, with the one-and-only Florencia Ramirez, author of Eat Less Water. Much Love to all the folks to make the Ojai Film Fest possible - it was a real treat to be included.

WTOWW brought home two (!!) awards from the 2021 Ag & Art Film Festival in Vacaville, CA. What an immense honor! From both the Jury and the Audience - "Best Ag Feature" - Wowzers! Thank you to Lisa Murray, Festival Director, and to all who came out to enjoy the films. xo

There are exciting upcoming opportunities to see the film, and at the very tippy-top of my dream-list of Festivals that I was hoping & wishing & wanting to get into... drumroll please... may I announce....

"Where There Once Was Water" is an Official Selection for the 2022 Wild & Scenic Film Festival! (Yeeeee! Somebody pinch me.) All the info can be found on their website HERE.

For those in Colorado, I'm excited to announce my Colorado Premiere!

Here at home, I've been lending my visual story-telling skills to our local beaver, and their human friends, the SLO Beaver Brigade, to help share the story of the positive impacts beaver can have on our watersheds. Learn more about our local watershed superheroes (and join us for a Watery Walk!) with the SLO Beaver Brigade.

As always, thanks for being here, friends. Keep up to date on all screenings/festivals/press at my website... www.WhereThereOnceWasWater.com Much Love & Gratitude to you and yours.

Thank you for being here. I hope that this message finds you well, and hanging in there. These times are strange. It feels like there's chaos & heartbreak in all directions. Some days hope can feel harder to find, but I promise it's out there. At it's core, that's really what my film is about - hope, through solutions - to the many mounting crises we face today. As you'll see below, there are MANY upcoming opportunities to see the film - both in-person and virtual - I hope one of them aligns for you. Stay well & stay strong, my friends. I love you. xo

First, a MASSIVE thank you to the Rockstars at Tablas Creek for hosting the first-ever in-person screening of "Where There Once Was Water". We got together last Friday at their vineyard and winery, to enjoy each other's company outdoors, and to learn about their brand-new Regenerative Organic Certification. They're the first winery in the WORLD with this brand new certification, and it's a big deal. Check out their amazing work (and amazing wine) here : Tablas Creek Vineyard

And now... on to a gaggle of opportunities for you to see the film (yeehaw!) ...

I was recently interviewed by Steve Chiotakis on the show, Greater LA. The episode was about the intense drought we are currently facing in California and the West, and solutions that are currently on the table. It was an honor to be in conversation with him. You might enjoy our talk about water recycling efforts in Southern California, and beavers in the north (and right here in SLO County!).

tablas_screening_w.jpg

Our very first in-person screening is scheduled for August 13th at the one-and-only Tablas Creek Vineyard. We are THRILLED about this event.

"Join us on our patio for our first live event at the winery in over a year! On the evening of August 13th we’ll be showing the documentary Where There Once Was Water by local photographer & filmmaker Brittany App. This film is dear to our hearts as it’s about the scarcity and use of water here in California and how sustainable farming practices can (and must) be part of the solution. Tablas Creek is featured in the film and we’re excited to spread awareness about both the subject and the film.

Come at 7pm for a glass of wine. At 7:15pm Brittany will join our Jason Haas, Neil Collins, and Jordan Lonborg to discuss our own path to Regenerative Organic Certification and Brittany's quest to make the film, and will answer questions. At dusk we'll screen the film."

Seats are limited for this special event. Reserve your spot HERE
